Bills Sign 76-Yard Kicker Sensation – “That leg’s lethal.” Says Coach McDermott

The Buffalo Bills just made a bold move to boost their special teams, signing Caden Davis, a rookie kicker best known for his jaw-dropping 76-yard field goal during practice — a distance that would obliterate the current NFL record if replicated in live play.
Davis, who transferred to Ole Miss after starting his college career at Texas A&M, has long been regarded as one of the strongest legs in college football. At Ole Miss, he converted a 56-yard field goal in a live game and earned SEC Special Teams Player of the Week honors for a perfect outing against Tulane.
Now in Buffalo, Davis brings more than just power — he brings possibility.
“That leg flips the field before the offense even snaps,” head coach Sean McDermott reportedly told staff after watching Davis in pre-camp workouts.
The team released WR Kelly Akharaiyi to make room for Davis, signaling that Buffalo is seriously considering carrying two kickers — or that Davis is being eyed for more than just practice duties.
With Justin Tucker’s 66-yard kick still standing as the longest in NFL history, Davis' 76-yarder — though in practice — shows he has the range to change games.
